On October 27, Mr. Alain Rousseau and Ms. Fernanda Cruz, representing IEC TC81, visited Anhui Jinli to conduct a full-day seminar on lightning protection technology. Experts from both China and abroad gathered to focus on core Surge Protective Device (SPD) technologies, updates to industry standards, and global market opportunities, while exploring new approaches to innovation in lightning protection and international collaboration.

At the seminar, Mr. Yang Zhen, General Manager of the company, delivered a welcome address, expressing his warm reception to Chairman Alain Rousseau and his delegation. He noted that since its establishment in 2006, the company has spent two decades focusing on the R&D, production, sales, and fundamental technical research of surge protective devices (SPDs) and lightning protection products. He expressed a desire for deeper future collaboration in areas such as the joint development of standards, comparative testing, and the co-development of products. Mr. He Ming, Manager of the R&D Department, provided the visiting experts with a comprehensive overview of the company’s industrial positioning and technical roadmap. During the exchange, Chairman Alain Rousseau presented a copy of the professional book he edited, *Surge Protection in Low-Voltage Electrical Systems*, which he personally autographed and gifted to Anhui Jinli.

During a break in the meeting, Chairman Alain and his delegation toured the company’s industrial park and lightning protection laboratory. They examined various experimental setups and integrated testing platforms, gaining a detailed understanding of the laboratory’s testing capabilities, procedures, and verification systems. Expressing their approval of Anhui Jinli’s integrated technical framework—covering high, medium, and low-voltage applications—as well as its supporting hardware infrastructure, they laid a solid foundation for future in-depth technical collaboration between the two parties.

This seminar is divided into two sessions. The morning session focuses on in-depth technical discussions—covering topics such as the compatibility design of SPD and SSD combinations, as well as breakthroughs in low residual voltage technology for SPDs—with a focus on addressing core technical challenges and exchanging practical R&D experience.

The afternoon seminar, framed from a global industry perspective, featured high-level discussions on the future trajectory of the lightning protection sector. Key topics included core product technologies, lightning risk assessment, and emerging trends in international standards. By analyzing industry pain points and evaluating market directions, the session provided valuable insights to guide corporate R&D and market expansion efforts.

During the final round of discussions, both parties engaged in a thorough exchange of views. Leveraging ongoing research projects within IEC/TC81, they identified potential areas for joint research. Simultaneously, they explored opportunities for collaboration regarding European market certification, distribution channels, and pilot projects. Together, they mapped out a path for long-term technical cooperation and the implementation of specific projects, ultimately reaching a broad consensus.
